Preparation of 3D fibrin scaffolds for stem cell culture applications.
Stem cells are found in naturally occurring 3D microenvironments in vivo, which are often referred to as the stem cell niche. Culturing stem cells inside of 3D biomaterial scaffolds provides a way to accurately mimic these microenvironments, providing an advantage over traditional 2D culture methods using polystyrene as well as a method for engineering replacement tissues. While 2D tissue cultu...
متن کاملPLLA/HA Nano composite scaffolds for stem cell proliferation and differentiation in tissue engineering
Abstract Due to their mulitpotency, Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), have the ability to proliferate and differentiate into multiple mesodermal tissues. The aim of this study was to isolate MSCs from human Umbilical Cord (hUCMSCs) to determine their osteogenic potential on nanofibrous scaffolds. To this end, Poly (L-lactic acid) (PLLA)/Nano hydroxyapatite (HA) composite nanofibrous scaffolds were...
متن کاملMulticomponent dipeptide hydrogels as extracellular matrix-mimetic scaffolds for cell culture applications.
Fmoc-3F-Phe-Arg-NH2 and Fmoc-3F-Phe-Asp-OH dipeptides undergo coassembly to form two-component nanofibril hydrogels. These hydrogels support the viability and growth of NIH 3T3 fibroblast cells. The supramolecular display of Arg and Asp at the nanofibril surface effectively mimics the integrin-binding RGD peptide of fibronectin, without covalent connection between the Arg and Asp functionality.
متن کاملComparison of Gelatin and Collagen Scaffolds for Fibroblast Cell Culture
Gelatin and collagen were used to produce the scaffold for fibroblast cell culture. The properties of scaffolds obtained from type A and type B gelatin were compared to scaffold obtained from collagen, which is widely used in skin substitute. Porous scaffolds were prepared by freeze drying and dehydrothermal (DHT) crosslinking method. DHT treatment time was performed at 24 and 48 h and the degr...
